If you haven’t yet separated for any considerable length of time, and therefore have no real-life experience in parenting from separate households, you may want to grant yourselves separation trial period.
If you’ve been separated for a while, take an honest assessment about what aspects of the parenting arrangements you’ve been living with so far have worked well for you, and for your spouse. Ask yourself:
What’s been happening so far?
What works for you/for them?
What hasn't worked for you/for them?
When you come to mediation we will work through the expectations and concerns so each parent can minimize future conflict.
