A temporary parenting plan or custody agreement contains information about where your child will live and how you and the other parent will care for your child during the divorce proceedings.
A temporary plan is a template for your parenting plan. It will help parents time to understand how the visitation and parenting decisions will be made upon divorce and any needed adjustments or changes before the parenting plan is finalized in the divorce decree.
Your plan should include:
A temporary custody schedule that shows where your child lives and when your child spends time with the other parent.
Your child’s daily living schedule, holidays, and vacation time.
The best interest of the child’s physical, emotional, and social needs.
Take notes about what is and isn’t working. Make improvements to your final parenting plan. If it’s working, you can make it permanent, or, agree to make changes.
